About Us

Our Mission

Community Servings is a not-for-profit food and nutrition program providing services throughout Massachusetts to individuals and families living with critical and chronic illnesses. We give our clients, their dependent families, and caregivers appealing, nutritious meals, and send the message to those in greatest need that someone cares. Our goals are to help our clients maintain their health and dignity and preserve the integrity of their families through free, culturally appropriate, home-delivered meals, nutrition education, and other community programs.

Community Servings has been awarded a coveted four-star rating for our efficient and effective business model for providing nutrition services to the critically ill by Charity Navigator, America's premier independent charity evaluator.

Our Board

Mark H. Lippolt
Chair Mark, who served as Treasurer before assuming the role of Board Chair in 2007, bought his first pie in 1996. He is drawn to Community Servings because the organization does collectively what individuals and families did two generations ago - bring a casserole to a sick neighbor and their family.

Our Staff

Milford Jenkins
Expeditor An employee of Community Servings since 2003, Milford, otherwise known as The Great Chef, keeps volunteers busy and focused on the task at hand but smiling and laughing while they work. Milford is one of the primary reasons why volunteers look forward to returning to the Community Servings' kitchen.

Our Supporters

Barbara Jordan
An ingenious business woman and philanthropist, Barbara bought three of Princess Diana's evening gowns for her Newbury Street boutique and then leveraged them for local charities. Ours raised enough to buy our first building in Roxbury!
