Registered Dietician

Community Servings, Inc. is Greater Boston's free, home-delivered meals program for those who are homebound with a critical illness, serving 1250 meals per day to 625 clients and their families in 15 communities.
 

Position Responsibilites

Develops clinical-based diets and menus for diverse primarily diagnostic categories including, but not limited to renal, bland, no-salt, low-salt, etc. in collaboration with the Executive Chef. Inspects food to ensure portions adhere to set restrictions and dietary standards. Conducts nutritional workshops and programs for clients and kitchen staff and promotes community nutritional education initiatives. Develops educationally and culturally appropriate nutrition information that emphasizes disease management. Makes home visits to clients to conduct assessments and provide nutritional counseling. Finally, this position supervises graduate student interns. The position reports to the Vice President of Programs.


Position Requirements

- Three to five years experience as a dietitian in a high volume production establishment.

- One to two years of supervisory experience preferred.

- Experienced at developing and conducting nutrition educational programs and workshops.

- Familiar with the latest nutritional standards, practices, and procedures.

- Must have experience in developing clinical-based diets and menus for different diagnostic categories.

- Demonstrated skill in interpersonal relations in order to effectively communicate with a multi-cultural population.

- Must possess a valid Massachusetts Driver's License and a clean driving history.

- Must be able to successfully pass a Criminal Offender Records Inquiry (CORI) Background Check.

- Bi-lingual speaking ability (e.g. Spanish) is a plus.

- Must possess a Certified Registered Dietitian credential.

Education

Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent education/experience.
