Delivery Driver - Part Time Position

Community Servings, Inc. is Greater Bostons free, home-delivered meals program for those who are homebound with a critical illness, serving 2000 meals per day to 600 clients and their families in 14 communities.

Position Summary:

The Delivery Drivers primary responsibility is the loading and delivery of prepared meals and related food to Community Servings clients at their home by driving a delivery van and carrying the food up the stairs (as much as four flights) or via elevator. In addition, the Delivery Driver assists with hands-on food packaging assembly.

Due to our expansion to Worcester we have a full-time position available Tuesday through Saturday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM which is subject to change. Part-time position may also be available.

Job Readiness & Employment Manager

Position Summary:

Community Servings - Eastern Massachusetts' free, food and nutrition program for the critically ill - seeks a Full-Time Job Readiness & Employment Manager for its Teaching Kitchen Program. Reporting to the VP of Programs, this position will support and monitor job training program participants and work closely with the Chef Instructor, Executive Chef, and Vice President of Programs to help trainees overcome barriers to employment.

Program Description:

The Teaching Kitchen Program is a free 12 week full-time food service training program for low-income individuals, displaced workers and individuals who have faced barriers. Trainees receive a combination of classroom time, cooking classes, job skills training and job seeking and placement assistance. The trainees also get experience in an active kitchen by helping prepare home delivered meals for the critically ill and their families.

Outreach Coordinator

The Outreach Coordinator participates in the development and implementation of a major outreach campaign focusing primarily on underserved and hard to reach populations, in need of our services. The Outreach Coordinator works closely with all Program Staff in ensuring a smooth transition from applicant to client.

Service Learning and Internships

Volunteers are the backbone of our organization. In addition to working in the kitchen, doing deliveries and helping out on special events, we have several opportunities for colleges students to fulfill service learning course requirements or intern with us. Past and current projects have included helping to develop, distribute and tabulate the results of client surveys and doing outreach to hospitals and clinics regarding our expanded mission.

Food Policy and Advocacy Internship

We give our clients, their dependent families, and caregivers appealing, nutritious meals, and send the message to those in greatest need that someone cares. Internship Description

The Policy and Advocacy intern will gain insight and experience into the development and execution of an organizational advocacy agenda. Collaborating with seasoned professionals, board members, volunteers and consultants, s/he will be part of a team that lays the groundwork for Community Servings emerging policy and advocacy work.
