| The Volunteer Recruitment Coordinator is responsible for the recruiting of all kitchen and delivery volunteers, development volunteers and student interns. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, recruiting, organizing and managing volunteers for holiday and other programs, coordinating volunteer committees, community networking, volunteer orientation, delegating specific tasks and assignments to volunteers and working with kitchen staff to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner. | Service Learning and Internships |
Volunteers are the backbone of our organization.
In addition to working in the kitchen, doing deliveries and
helping out on special events, we have several opportunities
for colleges students to fulfill service learning course
requirements or intern with us. Past and current projects
have included helping to develop, distribute and tabulate
the results of client surveys and doing outreach to hospitals
and clinics regarding our expanded mission. |

The Development, Fundraising and Special Events intern will gain insight into the inner workings of a successful development team. Collaborating with seasoned professionals, Board members, high-level donors and volunteers, and an extensive network of resources within the Greater Boston area, s/he will provide assistance in all aspects of development and events work, including donor relations, proposal development, and Pie in the Sky - Community Servings' renown Thanksgiving bake sale that raises $375,000, or 10% of our annual operating budget.
