Kitchen
Volunteers help prepare and package meals. Working
alongside our professional staff you will assist with
a variety of essential tasks from chopping and peeling
fruits and vegetables to dishing up our hot meals on
the “line,” our
10-person, meal assembly line that allows us to get 650+
hot entrees and side items ready for delivery each morning.
This
opportunity is open to everyone from individuals to groups
of up to 15. You can make it a one-time or long-term commitment.
Our kitchen is open Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to
8:00 pm. We are also open on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of
each month from 10AM until 2:00PM for volunteer groups, and
on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month for individual volunteers.
Plan ahead if you’re interested in volunteering on a
Saturday, as they usually fill up a month or two in advance.
Participants must be at least 13 years
of age – all volunteers under the age of 18 must
be accompanied by an adult chaperone. All volunteers must
attend an orientation session before working in the kitchen.
Orientation is held every Wednesday at 6:00 pm. We
will make alternate accommodations for groups and individuals
who can not attend our regularly scheduled orientation.
It takes 50 volunteers per day
