Community
Servings is Greater Boston’s free, nutritious, home-delivered
meals program for people ill with HIV/AIDS and other acute
life-threatening illnesses, their dependents, and their caregivers.
Each day, we prepare, package and deliver lunch, dinner and
a snack for almost 700 individuals and families throughout Greater
Boston. Our meals are packed with the nutrition needed to
fight illnesses such as cancer, HIV/AIDS, Lou Gehrig’s
disease, multiple sclerosis and lupus. Community Servings
strives to serve all people living with illness who are in
need of our meals. We serve 16 cities and towns in Greater
Boston. We feed the client, their family members including
their caregiver, parent/spouse and children under the age
of 18. For those who have a doctor’s recommendation
we also provide additional nutritional supplements.
We provide each of our clients with choice of a daily fresh
meal (lunch, dinner and a snack) or a weekly frozen meal bag.
Clients also have access to our nutritional counseling program,
which offers over 40 different special diets to fit their
medical and appetite needs. Examples of special diets include
no salt, bland, renal, vegetarian, no fish and diabetic. Through
our special diets program we can ensure that our clients have
the most appropriate and nutritious meals delivered according
to their needs.
