ServSafe Tutor (Volunteer Position)

Eastern Massachusetts’ free, home-delivered meals and nutrition program for the critically ill seeks a ServSafe Tutor for its Teaching Kitchen job-training program. Note: This is a volunteer position.

The Teaching Kitchen program is a 12-week job-training program for people interested in careers in the food service industry who face barriers to full-time employment. As they learn food preparation and cooking techniques, trainees also help our culinary team prepare the meals we deliver to our clients each day. At the end of the program, trainees prepare for and take the ServSafe exam, a food and beverage safety training and certificate program.

Responsibilities:

  • Commitment is three, 3-hour sessions. Session scheduling is flexible, one session on September 25 or 26, and two sessions during the week of October 2. Preferred time for sessions is 9:00am – 12:00pm.

Qualifications:

  • Tutor will need to be familiar with ServSafe subject material and have a culinary background.
