About Us

Telling our Story in a New Way

Our new agency video brings our work and who it helps directly to you, in a never-before seen way."

Our Mission

Community Servings is a not-for-profit food and nutrition program providing services throughout Massachusetts to individuals and families living with critical and chronic illnesses. We give our clients, their dependent families, and caregivers appealing, nutritious meals, and send the message to those in greatest need that someone cares. Our goals are to help our clients maintain their health and dignity and preserve the integrity of their families through free, culturally appropriate, home-delivered meals, nutrition education, and other community programs.

Our Board

Charles Roussel
Chair CEO at The College of American Pathologists and husband of a three - time cancer survivor. He is acutely aware of how difficult it is for anyone to sustain health in the face of a chronic disease. Prior to running the second largest medical association in the United States, for four years Charles ran the Disadvantaged Children and Youth program for Atlantic Philanthropies which brought extended day learning, preventative healthcare, and mentoring services to vulnerable children and their families. Charles brings a brilliant strategic mind and national healthcare perspective to our board.

Our Staff

Medardo Fernandez
Prep Cook Medardo is responsible for all the preparation of the meals we sell to other non-profit organizations. He also sets up the vegetables and starches for the line -- the area of our kitchen where the day's meals are packaged and sealed. In addition, Medardo tutors many fellow staff members who are learning Spanish! Volunteers -- especially teenagers -- love Medardo. His jokes keep them laughing and coming back to help.

Our Supporters

Citizens Bank
Began sponsoring LifeSavor in 1996 and have been some level of sponsor every year since. They've been a title sponsor since 2012 and have donated to the auction for years. Last year they donated the Fathers Day Red Sox box we raffled for Fathers Day, raising $10,6000 in support of our Food and Nutrition Program. Jerry Sargent, President Citizens Bank & RBS Citizens, has served as an event co-chair
