Individual Volunteering

We rely on our volunteers.

As one of Boston’s largest volunteer programs, we welcome volunteers to prepare meals in our kitchen, deliver meals to our clients, and help with our fundraising efforts and special events.

In Our Kitchen

Help us peel, chop, and package meals for our clients. Volunteers must be 13+. Must first attend an *orientation on a Wednesday evening.

Volunteers are needed Monday – Friday 8am-8pm and Saturdays 10am-2pm. Hours are flexible but there is minimum requirement of a 2-hour shift.

Saturday Meal Delivery

Deliver meals to our homebound clients. Volunteers must be 17+ with a driver’s license and own vehicle. Must first attend an *orientation on a Wednesday event and consent to a CORI.

Drivers are needed Saturdays from 9am-12pm. Must commit to one Saturday a month for six months.

Ride-Along Meal Delivery

Assist our delivery drivers on their weekday routes. Must first attend an *orientation on a Wednesday event and consent to a CORI. Volunteers are assigned a specific delivery day from 8:30am-4:00pm.

*Orientations take place every Wednesday at 6:00pm and attendance to one is required before any individual can sign up for a volunteer shift.

Special Events

Volunteer for our signature fundraising events Pie in the Sky (fall) and LifeSavor (spring). Serve on our planning committees or sign up for specific event-related volunteer shifts. Stay informed of upcoming opportunities and sign up for our newsletter.

Young Professionals

Join our young professionals group and engage in a number of community-related events, policy discussions, and hands-on volunteering.
