Community Servings believes that food is powerful medicine. Our advocacy work aims to engage policy leaders and change the way America feeds the sick.

A growing body of research shows that our model of delivering medically tailored meals to those at risk for malnutrition because of their illness reduces healthcare costs, improves health outcomes, and improves patient satisfaction and quality of life.

Malnourishment: At least 1 in 3 patients enters the hospital malnourished.

Healthcare Cost: Healthcare costs for malnourished patients are up to 3x higher than costs for properly nourished patients.

Length of hospital stay: Hospital stay for malnourished patients are up to 3x longer than for properly nourished patients.

For these reasons, we are advocating for the integration of medically tailored meals and supportive nutrition services into public and private healthcare models.
