Community Servings’ additional program initiatives support our primary mission of feeding individuals and families battling critical and chronic illness.
- The Teaching Kitchen, a food service job training program. As men and women who face life challenges and barriers to employment learn food service skills, they also help our kitchen staff prepare the meals we deliver to our clients each day.
- Food is Medicine, advocating for integrating medically tailored meals into healthcare models. We believe that the integration of medically tailored, home-delivered meals into healthcare reimbursement models can change the way America feeds the sick.
- Nutrition education classes and workshops. Community members and clients transitioning off our meals service attend nutrition and cooking classes to learn how to manage their health issues through good nutrition.
- Increasing access to healthy and local food. Through partnerships with local farmers and purveyors, we are a source of fresh produce and other local foods for our clients and neighbors.
As Community Servings continues to evolve, we are always seeking new ways to improve the nutrition, health and well-being of our clients and the community.
