Culinary Medicine
The Culinary Medicine Program teaches medical students how to educate patients about nutrition and prepare meals for the prevention and treatment of diet-related diseases. Building on Community Servings’ decades of experience as a leading medically tailored meal provider, this program immerses students within the organization located in the vibrant, diverse Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston.
Target Audience
Ideal for third- or fourth-year medical students and residents interested in gaining empathy and skills to share recommendations with patients experiencing nutrition insecurity and diet-related chronic illnesses.
Curriculum and Structure
Up to 14 90-minute modules that combine evidence-based nutrition education with basic cooking skills and recipes
Divided between coursework (reading materials, activities, other assignments) and hands-on cooking in the Community Servings Teaching Kitchen

In these step-by-step videos, Community Servings registered dietitian nutritionists prepare an array of diverse and delicious meals. Share these videos with patients or health plan members as instructional tools for independently preparing healthy, budget-friendly meals.
Community Servings provides medically tailored meals to people who are living with critical or chronic illnesses.
