Spiced Nut Crunch

This salty, savory, crunchy mixture is delicious on vegetables, yogurt, hot cereal or just eaten as a snack.

Ingredients (serves 6)

  • 1 egg white
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala or curry powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • pinch of cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds or chopped raw
  • cashews
  • 1/4 cup shelled sunflower seeds


  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.
  2. Coat a baking sheet with nonstick spray.
  3. Whisk egg white, honey, and spices in a medium bowl.
  4. Add nuts and seeds and toss to coat.
  5. Transfer mixture to baking sheet using a slotted spoon, allowing the excess mixture to drip back into the bowl.
  6. Bake, stirring occasionally, 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Let mixture cool on sheet before breaking into pieces and transferring to an airtight container to store.
