We rely on the generosity of individual volunteers and organized community groups to help our kitchen team prepare the nutritious food our clients need to improve and maintain their health. Whether it’s one time, once a week, or once a month, every extra set of hands helps.
We currently host 100+ volunteers daily across multiple shifts to make thousands of scratch-made medically tailored meals.
We also need a few volunteers who can commit to delivering meals to our clients in the Greater Boston area once a week. Shifts take place on the same weekday and require a 2-hour time commitment (minimum).
More comfortable with computers than the kitchen?
Our Teaching Kitchen job-training program needs volunteers to support trainees in gaining digital literacy skills. Volunteers help trainees with tasks such as searching for job postings, completing online job applications, creating email accounts, or building their Indeed.com profiles.
Volunteer hours are from 1 – 4 p.m. on Thursdays. Digital literacy classes are informal; the main goal is to help trainees use computers and feel confident in their basic abilities.
The training is self-directed, with the facilitator(s) guiding and supporting each student.
A commitment to leading at least one 6-week digital literacy training is required.
Community Servings is proud to offer placements for students enrolled in dietetic internship programs, as well as other volunteer opportunities for Registered Dietitian Nutritionists or for individuals with an expertise in nutrition.
