About recipe

This recipe is what I like to call ‘Soul Food Sunday Dinner worthy’ because it feels like something special to cook when you have a little extra time to plan, though it’s a delicious slice of heaven you can have any day of the week!

Ingredients (serves 6)

  • 2 Turkey Wings
  • 2 Turkey Drums
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 small green bell pepper
  • 1 small red bell pepper
  • 1 small yellow or orange bell pepper
  • 2-3 tbs. of cornstarch (to add to turkey juices)
  • Turkey liquid (saved from baking)
  • 3 cups broth
  • Salt and pepper

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Cut turkey wings and drums into desired pieces or leave whole.
  3. Cut vegetables into 1-inch cubes and place in a bowl.
  4. Place turkey in a full-sized aluminum tray or baking pan (at least 9 x 13 inches). cover top with foil and bake for 1 hour.
  5. Remove turkey from the oven, draining juices into a bowl. Add the cornstarch to the turkey juices and mix well.
  6. Place vegetables on top of turkey wings then pour the juices/cornstarch mixture on top. Make sure gravy juices almost cover the wings and drums.
  7. Return the pan to the oven uncovered, until the turkey is fully cooked and tender. The juices should be brown and bubbly. Enjoy!
