Maximum Volunteers: 4

DETAILS

Community Servings’ Teaching Kitchen program is a 12-week job-training program for people interested in careers in the food service industry who face barriers to full-time employment. As they learn food preparation and cooking techniques, trainees also help our culinary team prepare the meals we deliver to our clients each day.

The Teaching Kitchen job trainees are about to graduate and we’re looking for volunteers to help them complete online job applications and practice their interview skills! We will supply everything you need for either task: links to job postings, completed resumes and references on flash drives, mock interview questions, and areas for interview feedback. We have Chromebooks to use for job applications, but if you have a laptop computer you would be more comfortable using, please bring it. Please come ready to spend the morning encouraging and offering clear and honest feedback and support to trainees who have faced challenges to employment, and may have limited computer skills and/or limited English proficiency.
